Display Activity Levels as Color Bands

This option controls whether the orange and yellow color bands for Low and Moderate activity are shown in the raw step data graphs on your screen and in printing. When you change this, you will need to close and re-open any open files to see the effect.

These color bands can be helpful references for visual inspection of your data, but they can also be misperceived. Remember that when the line representing any data point passes through and beyond a given band, that line is counted in the interval within which it peaks. It is easy for the eye to perceive the line as also belonging to the lower levels through which it passes. Additionally, remember that step counts accumulate more quickly at the high levels of activity so a person can spend relatively little time at high level activity but have accumulated many steps in that category.
